Hey Kathleen,
You do have a 1961 Shasta. If it is a Deluxe 19', it would be about 2900 lbs. This is based on the Starflyte 19'.
Would love to see some pictures!

I just picked up a 66 compact #P7749. Darn good shape. Just needs new paint scheme inside PO did a hunter green. Bleh. But it's solid with all good intact window seals. No water damage except near roof vent which I will replace in the winter.

I had my wife help me to re-measure and found that I was wrong on the lenght and width. It is 18' long, tounge to rear bumper. 7'1" wide. Body lenght is 15'4". I'm still trying to figure out what this model is. Hopefully the new measurements will help.

Jim, yes it is the correct year for your Compact. Sorry that I didn't mention that.
Scott, thanks for your Airflyte's vin#. She was born in 1968. As for titles....from what I have heard, titles weren't always around for campers/trailers until sometime in the 60's. Again, this is what I have heard and it could be totally wrong.

I've just purchased (but haven't brought home yet) what I have been told is a 1960 Airflyte. The VIN is #N4245. Jalousie windows on the front. No rounded cabinets. Can you confirm the year and model? I do have photos but not sure how to attach?

Hey Theresa,
Shasta Vin#'s didn't start with the letter N. Could it have been a V? Did you notice where it was manufactured, by looking at the green manufacturing plate by the door?
You can put a link to the pictures.
Can't wait to see it and pin point the year.

All I'm going by is what's typed on the previous owner's title. I don't have it in my yard yet to be able to cross reference it anywhere. I'll have to save the pictures to an album and link it...

Sure looks like an Airflyte to me! The floorplan and shape say '59-'64. The VIN will pinpoint the year.

I too agree that it is an Airflyte and believe that N in the vin# should be a V, which would fit right for the year. If in deed it is a V, your Airflyte was born mid year of 1959.
When you get her home, double check the vin# on the tongue.
Great looking Shasta, by the way!!
