That's a good note about the lights. I didn't know that. I have been going through past posts and logging the vins and years for "V" (Indiana) manufacturers, and have come up with the same you have, either 68 or 69. There wasn't enough vins in my year range to be sure, but I'm thinking 68 pretty strong right now. Another question for anyone that might know..... Where is everyone finding the date stamped in the underside of the sink? I'm pretty sure this has the original sink, and I've even taken it out and went over it, but nothing found, but there's a lot of area I haven't been able to check because the biggest part of the underside of it is covered with that black tar stuff for sound deadening or something. The mirror was gone, and I haven't found anything anywhere else with a date on it. Thanks for the reply!

Well, I did at least figure out the year of ours. After going through all the vins that have been posted over the years, I finally narrowed it down to 1968. :-)

Based on your Compact's vin number, it is showing that you have a 1963 Shasta and born in Northridge, California. If it were born in 1959, the prefix letter would have been " C". The prefix letter " B" was never used. Hope this helps and thank you for your Shasta's vin#!

Hey Moonshiner, Looks like you an early 1960's Airflyte? Do you know what the prefix letter is in the Vin# or what manufacturing plant is stated on the green plate beside the entry door? Once I know where it was produced and can be more precise. Thanks! Hi Ross. Do you know what year coachmen started manufacturing the Shasta camper? And when they started manufacturing did they still stamp the VIN number on the curbside tongue?

Check out this item on eBay. I’m not sure what it’s for, but thought you might be interested because the serial number engraved on it is really close to yours. I showed your “eckoskeleton” pic to my hubby. He thinks she looks like a movie prop!

Is it a jack crank? The number engraved on it is really close to my VIN number. Thank you openroad.
