flamingo4 Welcome the the Shasta madness! Being that your Shasta Astrodome falls at the end of 1965 and the beginning of 1966 and basing this on the Shasta vin# database collection, so far.......there is only a difference of 40 other vin#s between 1965 and 1966, which I do not have yet......I have to make an educated guess. Here it is and I am playing it safe, Your Astrodome was born in Goshen, Indiana, in 1965, probably in December, but not sold until 1966. Thank you for your Shasta's vin# and hope this helps, Ross

Thank you so much for your speedy response! That is so interesting...I had read that Astrodomes were only made from 1962-1964. Thanks for your help! Also, the title says 1967...can that be updated? If so, would I put 1965? Thank you again!!

As for your Shasta's vin#....if it were a '64, then vin# would start off as V15*** up to V187** Again, this is based on the Shasta vin#'s that I have been collecting from their owners, for years.

Hey folks. I've got a new Shasta!!!! I couldn't find the VIN # anywhere on the tongue but I've got the paperwork from the last people who owned it. On their bill of sale, the VIN # is listed as: A321002247. Could this be correct? They have the model # as: 18CB. It's a 1977 model with the dinette up front, kitchen to the left curb, couch/bed in back and fridge, closet, furnace, shower/toilet on the road side. Is "CB" center bath?

dbandach Welcome aboard!! Would love to see some pics of your 1977 Shasta! The vin# is correct, however, not sure what the CB stands for. This would have been in the early part of Shasta's being produced by Coachman Industries. When Coachman was producing Shasta's, they were usually given Model numbers and this was based on the length of the trailer. I would be willing to bet that you have a Shasta 1850, which will be 18' 7" long (tongue to bumper) and 7'8" wide.

Hello I have a 15 foot 10 inch Airflyte with the VIN# V-9644 I cant seem to figure out if it is a 1962 or 1963 model. The back of the mirror dates 1962. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

bill62Your Shasta Airflyte chassis was actually built and given it's vin# in 1961, probably in the beginning of the last quarter of 1961, in Goshen, Indiana. Then completed and sold in 1962. Hope this helps. Ross

I just got under the sink of my Airflyte and the sink has a 1963 date and it looks to be original so would this make it a 1963?

I go by what the database tells me.
If your Shasta was produced in 1962, the vin#'s would run from around V9950 - V11775 and if a 63' the vin#'s would look like V11776 - V15150.
My thoughts are one of two possibilities. If your sink was stamped 1963, your Shasta could have sat around for an additional year, before being completed....which I seriously doubt or the sink was replaced, for some reason.
Another possibility, there is a missing number in your Shasta's vin#, such as V-19644, which give you a 1965 Airflyte.
Any of these possibilities could explain the dates found on the mirror and sink.
Did you get your Airflyte's vin# off of the tongue or from the title?
This is a mystery. can't wait to see how it turns out.

Ross:
The V-9644 came off of the tongue tag. Both numbers on the tongue match except for a dash between the V and the 9 on the actual tag. The mirror has Jan-22-1962. As for the sink, the numbers sounded wrong to me also so I looked again just to be sure. The numbers were stamped so heavily on the sink it looked like a 63 but the date actually reads 2-8-1962. The title was lost years ago for this little Shasta so I am trying to figure out what the actual year on the title would be.
Thank you again for all of your help Ross:)
