Our new Shasta has only one of these. Should there be more? Where does it go if it spans both sides? Does anybody have a photo of the compact bed fully set up with the table down?

There should be two, one for each side. The bed pulls out and the frame sits in the notch with the cross part on the floor. With the table set up, the bed pulls out almost to the table leg on each side.

Btw, there was someone at the rally who had an extra set of the legs that she wanted to part with for shipping costs.

Would this be the same for a 69' compact ? Just got it and we were wondering why the legs were short. I guess these pieces were missing, is that correct ? If so is there anyone who can get me dimensions so I can have them made. Thanks from a newbie !

Are your benches in a U shape with one across the back and two small on the side or do you just have two, one on each side? My 65 with the U shaped benches pull out from the back and the legs are attached. I think the legs are attached with both styles 65 and later.

The legs are too short and we don't know if the PO cut them down or if we're missing something.

The one in the photo is for a 1962 Shasta Compact. I'm not sure what the newer ones look like.

Mel, you have a first Generation Compact. The leg in the photo above fits your bed but I'm not sure about a 69.
My guess is if the supports are too short, they are not for the later Compact.
I'm not a big fan of how our 62 Compact bed pulls out and is supported. It worked, but a little clunky. Not very smooth.

The second gen Compacts have the legs attached to the frame.

The second gen Compacts have the legs attached to the frame. That makes more sense than the floating leg. Which do you like better? I ask because I know you collect Compacts.
