Call us stupid here, but this whole glamping thing is a little beyond us. Hamlet may be a Scandinavian prince, but he IS Scandinavian, so isn't quite sure about all the frou frou. First, where do you put all the stuff when you're traveling? Do people really set up a campsite like that on Friday night and then take it down on Sunday afternoon? What happens to the 14 pillows on the bed when you are ready to sleep? Do you have to pack up all the stuff sitting on the counters every time you drive? What do you do with it all when you're out on a hike? Aren't you afraid someone will take off with a flamingo? Or is this something that's meant for backyards and trailer rallies?

I'm with you Hamlet. I was beginning to think that maybe I should avoid rallies and stick to my primitive camping where we wear the same raggedy clothes for a week, play in the creek, string a hammock between trees and enjoy smelling like campfire and marshmallows.

What is that? Is that a hard sided pop up?

Wow - I'm sorry. I thought this was the glamping thread, not the "bash the glamping" thread. Personally, I have had fun collecting western stuff for my little trailer and I like sleeping on a bed with a tempurpedic mattress pad and a down comforter. Do I have too many pillows? Yep. Do I have a lot of crap I have to set up and take down after a rally? Yep. Do I have tons of fun doing it? Yep. If you don't like glamping, don't read the glamping thread! And for your viewing pleasure, some pictures of all my ridiculous pillows...

Sorry, I thought the reading room was totally glamped. Hard shell cut out and all. Easy reading chair, reading light, floor lamp, evergreen tree, big leather hard back books, framed pictures, oil heater......
Leaving the glamping area now due to lack of glamping knowledge. Obviously a mans view of glamping is different than a woman's. I promise I won't be back.

Thanks for the pictures. I enjoy looking at them. I personally don't have room to take a lot of stuff with since I haul my doggies with me and just the necessary things take up all my room. but I enjoy seeing what others do. I too have lots of pillows in my campers, just feels more comfy to me. Oh and I do have a countertop clothes washer and dryer for washing and drying things to put away when leaving!!!

I'm not bashing glamping by any means. Everyone has their own thing. I was just saying I might not fit in very well. It makes my kind of camping look shabby and not even shabby chic.
