NC, where was your Compact made? There should be a badge on the outside left of the door. I won't be able to answer until I'm back in Colorado to pick it up. The original dealer was in CO. I should have taken photos of the plates. I was obsessed with the framing and skirt area and fogged on a few basics.

Hey, I was so excited and so into checking mine out that I didn't even remember to take pictures when I went to see mine for the first time.

It sounds good! You would have noticed if the trailer was too wobbly... Take lots of pictures for us.

That is a great story!! Congrats! Love and agree about your Craigslist theories! I've learned the hard way over the last year that solid, restorable vintage campers are hard to come by. Making believe Craigslist is a buyers market didn't work for me. Most sellers realize the demand outweighs the supply within an hour of listing a solid vintage camper. But my theory of "It looks great, I have to risk the deposit money or forget it" may make the old time vintage people ill. They still remember excellent restoration options all over town for $500 or less. One person at a campground told me "I was paid to tow them away ten years ago!" Those were the days!

LOL I've been paid to tow a few away. That actually happened this winter.
You done good Nc. And you didn't really break the rules. You sort of re-wrote a few. But basically you didn't buy one sight unseen. I've done exactly what you were prepared to do to get my hands on a hot item. This is one of those rare finds that we all dream of and the only way most people find them is to be diligent in their search and be patient as well.
Again ya done good. How come this thread got so far without me seeing it?
