actually the foam underlayment is what you would use, you can use any that you would for laminate. Also with the allure, its a little pricey but if a piece gets damaged, its easily replaced

I put liminate in my compact 4 years ago and have had no issues. We have experienced temperature ranges from 5 to 95 degrees during the last few years. I left a small gap around the edges and covered with shoe molding. The only place it is secured down is where the table mount is screwed down to the floor and at the door I put a piece of aluminun angle down and have 2 screws through the floor. It has not buckled, seperated or moved and still looks like it did when I put it down.

Well, I ended up going with the Allure trafficmaster vinyl plank flooring and I'm very happy with the results. It was super easy to work with and the quality is great. You just score it with a blade to cut the size down and the textured top is very similar to wood laminate. I put down a 3-in-1 foam underlayment and so far the floor feels very nice under foot. I think this will stand up to any moisture that gets in, and if any piece does start to warp it will be an easy fix. I ended up using a little under 70 sq ft. Including the underlayment, it costed about $150. Not too bad for the huge difference it made! I'm happy to answer any questions anyone might have about the installation process if you're interested, so fire away. Thanks for all the advice!

When I first got my trailer, about six months ago, I actually bought a couple of vinyl planks to see if I liked the color. That was my intentions at the time before I saw all the cool VCT floors. I thought the VCT might be more practical for my camping situations but you're making me rethink my original idea. Pirate's solid vinyl wood-look floor looks really good, too!

Very happy with it. Just in time for the camper's maiden voyage this weekend. We'll see how she holds up!

Thanks ny63. I'd highly recommend vinyl plank flooring just based on the look and ease of installation. It hasn't got a lot of hard use yet but it seems like it'll do the job just fine. Good luck!
