Wow.. I cannot believe it either. I can't justify what the "fully" restored units are going for, much less the "way to far gone" ones. It's official, we are out of the recession... (Lol)I mean.. jeepers! But I am glad people are trading and making cash. They are a blast to play with and mine is bringing me a lot of joy.

Hey Danny, Think I saw a post of yours on a hot rod site so we're both car guys too. I've got a 1956 Austin Healey which will not tow anything I end up buying ! I'm down in Beaufort area. Going to look at a 1964 Zipper on Friday that I'm pretty interested in. Very nice and close so can drive over to see it. Regards, Mike

Regards,Mike Mike ,the Zipper campers were manufactured in Clinton,South Carolina in a old baseball bat manufacturing facility on Hwy 21 just North of Columbia,South Carolina, they were in production for only 3 years. From what I have been told some of the people at Shasta in Columbia,South Carolina That didn't like the way things were going and branched out on their own and created the Zipper. The Zipper used the same floor plan as the Shasta Compact. Danny

Mike, make sure you bring back LOTS and LOTS of photos after your visit...
The Zipper was very heavily influenced by the Compact. The 1965 or so models are hard to tell apart from the '63 or so Compact. If it is in "complete" condition, you will notice what I mean when you see the magazine rack inside.
I would love to score a Zipper for the collection myself some day... Got close once, but that did not happen.
