I like propane because,,, no need to wait for the coals to get where you need them. you can control the temp for a perfect steak.
I have considered cutting a hole in the bottom of my grill and plumbing in a tube from a box I can put hickory chips it to get that smoked flavor. think I will do it this year. best of both worlds.

Hang a small alum pan over the burners but under the grill and put your chips in it for a smoked flavor
