It may just work. Here are a couple of photos of my plan for a portable AC mounted high inside the wardrobe, facing the rear of the camper. It will blow into a new cabinet that I will fabricate. A 10x4 to 6 inch round register vent boot will be installed to take the conditioned air out into the camper through a stainless vent register that I can point up at the ceiling. I may install a 12v fan in the other rear corner somehow to blow the air around the cabin more efficiently if needed. Figuring out how to keep the AC safely in place while making sure I can easily remove it should it be necessary in the future is being worked on right now. The photos show the original rat poop stained wardrobe that I am using to mock up and to be used as a template for the real deal. I've also included a pic of a cabinet that I will use as my guide when I build the new cabinet where the vent register will be installed. Ventilation for the unit will be a decorative design cut into the door of the wardrobe by a CNC machine that a friend of mine has access to, which is really cool! The AC will be vented out the side of the trailer through a stainless steel vent that will most likely be similar to a dryer vent. Still deciding on that. You may be wondering why I don't just have the AC facing the door like the previous post in VTT depicts. He used an AC that is hard to find now. Also, many of these portable ACs have sketchy reviews so I went with a model that fits, and has great reviews too. However, this unit is a little too deep and I can not fit the vent pipe so I had to turn it. I planned on building the new cabinet anyway so no big deal to put the duct inside of it. More later...

Excellent.
I never installed an AC because my wife isn't interested in summer camping but I still like the idea of a beach vacation.

I likey! The wood looks great too... Hello vikx! The photo of the cabinet is from a blog. They rebuilt their camper using cherry. Absolutely beautiful! But isn't that cabinet sick with the curved top? I just love it and it will come in handy to have extra storage as well. If I can't pull it off a friend of mine is a master cabinet maker so I may use him to build it for me. That curve is intimidating!

Search "Joggle Sticks" on You Tube and you won't be intimitaded by curves any longer. It's how they make bulk heads for boats. Greatest little tool in the world and you make the tool yourself out of a small piece of plywood.

I did my Hanson cabinet curves freehand and it wasn't easy. Thank heavens for welting...

I like it! I put a roof-top unit on my '68 Rancho when I rebuilt it, but it definitely does not look vintage. Those cabinets look great! I'm still chewing on the possibility of a scratch-built bread-loaf, and your idea looks like it would work very well.

What color is the welting you used? It looks perfect against the walls. And did you get it from VTT?
