Hello everyone, We bought a 1957 Mercury 14 ft travel trailer recently. I didn't really notice this until after I got it home but the trailer seems to be uneven. By this I mean it sits 3 inches lower on one side. Has anyone ever had this problem and what are some theories on why this occurred. I would love to hear from anyone who might have had this same issue and how you fixed it. Thanks Bill

Would need photos to give good advice... If it has leaf spring suspension it’s possible one side is more compressed than the other and the compressed side is sitting lower or a flat tire? That would be about the best case scenario.

I agree, we need pix. Also, rot can cause side to side sag.

Any '57 model that survives a tow home deserves a careful willing hand to continue it's survival. Might cost you more time than you predict, and a few more bucks than you expect, but 60+ years of hanging in on it's own two feet, er tires, has earned some respect. Hope it finds that while in your hands. Ought to be a fun project, no matter what it needs.

I agree with Allan(got the name right this time! ) If a lot was stored on one side while it sat, the springs could be compressed on that side causing a listing. If one of the corners is sagging and the rest isn't maybe it's a frame issue. But like everyone has said, we need some pix and then these talented folks here can help you out. Mercuries in 1957 were carbon copies of Westerners. I look forward to your pix. Rod

Could even have a mismatch in springs. A Rainbow I worked on had that problem and someone had put a completely different leaf pack on one side of the trailer. I figure that they broke a pack and grabbed what ever they could stick on there to sell the trailer. I replaced both spring packs and all the hardware for around $200.
