I just bought this camper a few weeks ago and it's my first vintage camper. The floor is solid, no weak spots that I've found. I was wondering what the material is on the underside? It's like a fiber type material for lack of a better description. I can take more pics if that helps. It's in pretty good shape but there are a few areas where it is coming apart. Is there a way to put another product over this material to keep the underside as dry and intact as possible and if so what would you recommend? It's Celotex. Use Black Beauty fence paint to coat it.

There is one small section where the material is completely gone but the wood still looks perfect. Is there something still available that I can replace this with? Is Celotex still available in a sheet or roll or ?

It looks like the Menards stuff will work. Celotex is fiberboard coated on one side.

Do you know if the actual Celotex product is still available? I don't really see too much current information about it.

I will get under the camper and take a better look, I'm not sure how the original Celotex was attached but do you think it would be a good idea to just remove all of the original product after 62 years and replace it with the new either Menards substitute or the actual Celotex if I can find it?

Celotex was a company that made structural insulation. I would guess the proper name would have been "Celotex fiberboard" or similar. Back in the day, the trailer builders simply called it Celotex.
It is laid over the trailer frame before the joists and sills, so it would be impossible to install it after the fact. A good course would be to patch the bad area and coat the complete underside with Black Beauty.

Is the Black Beauty paint available in a smaller size other than a 5 gal pail? Really don't want to buy that size and end up only needing a gallon or so to coat my the bottom of the floor.
Is there an equivalent product available in smaller containers?

Yes, gallons are available at Tractor Supply and maybe others. Anything thick and gooey will work, even roof goop. I like the black. Look for waterproof or sealant on the can...

I finally got around to replacing a few pieces of the sheathing on the bottom of the camper that someone had torn down.
I would like to put something on the seams where they butt up to each other and was wondering what you think would be good to put on there to fill the small gaps? I did paint the whole underside using the black beauty fence paint. Looks like some good stuff.

Black beauty will goop into the seams or you can caulk the seams with paintable caulk. A good place for caulk on a trailer!
