Nobody seems to have one of these. I do, and I have been working on it a year now. The most challenging aspect has been rebuilding the rotten front end, and accurately reproducing the fitment of the curved front windows.
Second most challenging aspect: friggin silicone removal. I literally did everything else I could possibly do before getting to that part. I think silicone removal is probably what separates the completers to the bailer-outers in old trailer restorations.

Second most challenging aspect: friggin silicone removal. I have had fairly good luck removing silicone from aluminum / siding by using a heat gun from the back side. This causes the silicone to release / slightly melt before it distorts the aluminum. Works for me, but it's just a thought, didn't say it was a good one..... And, no animals are harmed when I do it this way. Oh, neat trailer!

I think I have earned a master's degree in the removal of silicone.....heat gun from the back...hmmm...that's doctoral level stuff.

It is not a classic restoration, but I have grown to like it, too. Learned a lot. VERY helpful book, Vikx, thanks! I am approaching the skin replacement with a new, bold confidence! Silicone is horrid and the bane of our existences. I LOVE your trailer!

I just looked at your pics on Flickr. Sure would like to see more of the trailer. I had a major silicone infusion on my 1965 FAN. A previous owner had removed and replaced all of the windows with silicone instead of putty tape. It looked like they used about a tube of the stuff on every window, with only a minimal amount actually "sealing" anything. I used a sharp chisel to scrape most of it off, then used a wire wheel on the rest. There were also at least three kinds of goopy material on the entire roof. I spent the first month just cleaning all of that crap off!
