We keep our Airflyte gaucho bed out all the time. We put a full size foam mattress back there so we dont have to make the bed up and down every night. But its so loud, every time anyone moves its making loud creaking noises. I was thinking about putting felt pads on the part the rests on the boxes to hold the bed out. Has anyone dealt with this? solutions? My daughter is a super light sleeper in the cot bunk above and I accidentally wake her all the time because of it.

It sounds like you are just getting her prepped for college dorms.
I am interested as well in your answer because I am planning to do the same thing. But I don't plan to really use this camper, I am building it for the kids so I am not afraid of being waken but more about the complaints from the kids.

We had the same issue which is why I now make the beds permanent. Screwing the bed frame down solves the creaking noise.

I was also thinking about taking the thin 1/4 or 1/8th off and putting 1/2 wood to make it feel more stable. might try felt first and then screw it down if that doesn't work. Thanks, nccamper

Our Shasta Compact beds were the loudest. Creak...groan...Creak...Groan...
Off subject...I feel your pain about selling your Compact but I'm glad somebody will be enjoying it. You did really nice work on it. It's hard to sell your first camper, isn't it?

nccamper Thank you. It is so hard to sell, I feel like its my baby lol. But I am really glad its not in my driveway anymore and she was so excited about it. I know it will be well loved over the years to come. I will update how the felt does, first camping trip is coming up next week.

So I finally got around to looking into this more today. I took the mattress off and and noticed that the sliding part was some how on top of the part that it is supposed to be under. So after fixing that the creaking went down about 75%. I have no clue how/why that sliding piece was installed wrong. There was still a little bit of noises left so I put felt on the wood piece that sits on the boxes and pressed against the kitchen cabinet and wardrobe closet. And that seems to have eliminated almost the rest of the creaking. There is still a tiny bit near the back of the bed, but It is coming from the 1/8 or 1/4 wood hitting up against the back rounded wall piece, so ill need to get the multi-tool out to trim those spots that are hitting. But I say creaking noises down about 95% is pretty good.
Also the memory foam bed was super hard(even though it got super good reviews on amazon). So I cut a king size soft 2" memory foam topper(had originally bought for the Compact and didnt use) down to size and threw that on top, then put the pillow topper my mom gave me on top of that, now its feeling comfy. I think I will be getting much better sleep next weekend while were camping.
