I would just sand it off but you might try the heat gun and putty knife way also.

Mine required sanding and priming Yep and if you use a heat gun for anything on aluminum don't forget that it will expand. And if it expands too much it will oil can and you won't be able to fix that.

I removed 2 original stickers from a 1966 trailer. I tried everything. Then I sprayed the area with .99 oven cleaner, after that I used acetone, then oven cleaner again. finally chrome cleaner. It never came off 100%, but about 98%. Once I applied the new sticker, you could not tell. Good luck.

Easily fixed with a metal shrinking disc! What is a metal shrinking disc and will it work on aluminum skin? Hi Friends, Thank you everyone for your suggestions. For a temporary fix, I may just put a decal over it. I bought a Rod and Reel decal off of a guy on Ebay who lives in Bend, Oregon. I don't know what a shrinking disc is, but found this video that kind of explains how it works. In the video, they kind of explain how it works. But, the guy in the video uses a dome shaped piece of steel. I would still like to here back from Youngbloodhawk on how he did it on the curved surface of the trailer forehead without damaging or stretching the aluminum from the heat(I really don't know if that would happen with the heat). Cheers, Rod

Hi Jeremiah, Yes, they are HUGE. That was one of the reasons I bought the trailer. The nicest thing about the windows is the mattress is at the height of the bottom of the window. When I stay at a trailer park in Malibu overlooking the ocean, I wake up and enjoy the view. It's stellar. Cheers, Rod

One of the stickers on my traveleze by the door was the metallic type. I had to carefully sand away. I may have used some Goofoff too. Slow process but came away clean. My replacement decals were from the eBay guy too. They are holding up well.

Hi Friends, Thanks again for the great ideas. So, turns out, this weekend, I was looking at the decals and the trailer had been sitting in the sun all day. So, I think, "Let's just try to peel it off." I bought the trailer three years ago and the labels wouldn't budge. It was October, so it was cooler. Well, guess what. They both peeled away surprisingly quite easily. They left some adhesive residue, but that was easy to get off. It left a tan color underneath which may have been the original color under the icky mint green. Here is a picture of the before and after. Clearly time was my friend on this one and maybe sitting for many years in Nevada's hot sun may have helped. The original was made out of a thin aluminum. decal removed with tan underneath by

Cheers,
RodRod it doesn't look like that rock guard was made for this trailer... LOL... Works as an awning though...

Hey Larry,
You are right. It's a "floods" version of road guards. It's from a 60's Terry Trailer. It came mounted when I bought the trailer. Works well enough for now. Rather than beat em, and join em, and dispose of it, I just had a small awning cover made to fit for now.
You can't tell it's too small once it's up anyways.
Cheers,
Rod
