So I used a baking soda and water paste and let it soak over night, removed all the parts I could, then used a wire brush on it. Then used a wire brush on a drill. It’s better but will use a sandblaster next. Making headway.

If temperpedic is foam, you can just cut down with a knife. We just got a mattress on Amazon and cut it. Are you based in Kalifornia? Dan, Are you referring to an electric steak knife like this one ? She might need a clarification. Cheers, Rod

I have heard folks using those types of knives, but I just use a large and sharp chefs knife. It's a little dangerous but only takes 2-3 passes...have done this several times for these types of mattresses (my daughter's bunk bed is about 9 inches short to fit in a nook) If temperpedic is foam, you can just cut down with a knife. I cut my mattress with a Saws-All with a long fine tooth blade.

Okay, I did the cast iron parts and the round parts on glass bead and got all the rust off and then used rustoleum spray (High heat) as recommended and many coats. They got a couple drops of water on them and they’ve rusted already!!! Now why?!? They’d get water on them while cooking or boiling water etc. so what to do? Should I powder coat them??? So frustrated.
