Great photos Violamom! Thanks for sharing.
I have to say that I was shocked that the first trailer is one of the retro Shastas made in 2015. They are well known for having a lot of "issues" to put it mildly... That the museum would include this is truly an enigma. The little Shasta lower is the real deal.
Anyone have any idea on that retro unit and why it is there?

The first pic is a retro? I didn’t know that! I do know that usually trailers after 1975/1980 aren’t as good & have major issues. I didn’t know they were making retro of those particular trailers

I think I am going to make the RV Hall of Fame a destination this summer if I can get a little time off to camp out there fro a weekend. I drove past on the way to pick up my Shasta, but took a different route home and didn't get the chance to stop in then. The first is definitely the retro 2015 Crapflyte. The wings tipped me right off, and then the flawed interior layout. I am guessing it is there as much a sales ploy from their introduction by Forest River as anything. There was one listed for sale locally on CL a few weeks back, I was tempted to go look, just so I can see it up close and personal.

I can’t imagine them being put together well at all!

Being built well is not a requirement to be in a museum. In Every museum we see things that were not built well .History and 2015 is the past. As we travel the US this winter we see so many campers out there that jumped on the Vintage Bandwagon. People pay 20 30 thousand dollars for some of them. Built well ? Sold and out on the road ..... yes

Re: what are they selling for, in terms of the retro Airflyte that was produced a couple years ago, they listed for around $17,500, if memory serves. The one I saw advertised held an asking-price of $15K. (Original 1960's-built sold for under $1500, which of course is $15K in today's money.) I think there were also a total of 5 recalls put out on them, and that will become a factor to future owners that may think they are cool to own. If the recalls were never followed up on, and that may be difficult info to track down, there is another whole ball of future dangers. It could I suppose be argued that they are not going to be any more "dangerous" than any genuine old 'vintage' camper out there and might have less structural decay issues for at least another 50 years. (By then all the 100 year old ones will have been landfilled and the planet will likely be on fire by then, so none of it will matter all that much.)
