I am in the process of rebuilding our 65' 1500. This has been a very interesting task, one that I never thought I would be doing when we purchased our camper 3 months ago. I have learned a lot along the way. I am currently replacing all of the water damaged and falling apart interior paneling. We discovered the aluminum fresh water tank under the front bench and very surprised at how good of condition it is in. I do know it was originally designed as a pressurized tank. I am planning on converting it to an on demand with a 12VDC pump. My question is how do we clean and sanitize the tank so we can use it? I cannot find anything online that even references an aluminum water tank in a Shasta.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can bleach it but there's really no way to be sure it's perfectly clean.. NEVER drink water out of a tank. Take extra bottles.

If I wanted a fresh water tank I would remove the old one and take measurements and tray to find a newer plastic tank to replace it, this site has many different sizes to choose from and even offer custom sizes. Danny www.tank-mart.com/
