I would check the grounds. Are the lights grounded to the skin, are the skins grounded to the frame, is the frame grounded to the Jeep? . All the lights are grounded to the frame. We did not ground anything to the skin. Over time we were worried that If the screws got lose, we would lose the connection. We are really hoping it was a ID10T issue. (ie) Slow down and pay attention to details. One of Richard’s favorite sayings.......... Debra

Hi, EveryoneIts been a couple of weeks since my last post. We have made progress. With Richards help I got the roof on. IMG_1248 by debra branch, on Flickr Richard got all the lights working. IMG_1257 by debra branch, on Flickr We also completed installation of the skin. IMG_1256 by debra branch, on Flickr Lots of small items have been completed.I removed the paint from the baggage door and installed it. Richard installed the electrical outlets on the curb side one under the window the other near the front, beside the upper corner of the entry door. The outdoor table mount has also been installed under the window, and the first window has been installed. Richard bolted the toilet down. I got the bench compartment doors installed. I will post pictures of that later. I also worked on the Entry door. It took a little time to figure out how to hang the door, I ended up using 2 jack stands with a scrap of 2x4 across them to hold it at the correct level so I could mount it. Who knew that hanging a door is a 1 woman job. IMG_1261 by debra branch, on Flickr I put colored lip gloss on the lock. IMG_1262 by debra branch, on Flickr I transferred the lip gloss to the strike plate. IMG_1263 by debra branch, on Flickr This allowed me with pin-point accuracy, where to place the hole for the door latch. IMG_1265 by debra branch, on Flickr The door is hung correctly. The bottom half on the inside is a dry erase board. I wanted to give the grand kids somewhere to draw. I think they are going to love it. I'm going to add a piece of trim at the upper seam of the dry-erase board. IMG_1269 by debra branch, on Flickr The door works...... So Happy I need to remove the extra butyl tape from the door frame. We still have lots of things to complete but every thing that we complete gets us closer to the end. List of items to complete on Camper
Install J and C rails Install fantastic fan Install windows Finish bunk Build screen door Trim windows and hang curtains Clean and install wings and name plates Complete trim of seams Add shutters and window box Paint/vinyl striping get my brother to fabricate new bench legs I am sure that this list is not complete As always, I am so thankful for this site, so many questions are answered by reading old threads. Thoughts and Advice are always Welcome............Debra

Hi Y’all, Just a short update I can’t post any pictures right now because one of my 135 + pound Great Danes (I have 2) sat on my laptop computer and broke the screen.
I was able to complete installation of the J and C rails. Finish cleaning all but 1 window and Installed 3 more windows. I have the back window to complete. I have it apart and have ordered the glazing tape. I hope it will be here tomorrow so I can get it completed Sunday night. I have drill this weekend so I won’t be able to work on it tomorrow. There is still plenty to do but I’m getting closer. I hope to have a replacement laptop soon and will post more pictures then until then thanks for reading and all advice and feedback is welcome. Debra

Glory Is all buttoned up...… I have not been able to work on the camper much. I spent a week with the grandkids, which is one of my favorite things, and we love spending time with them but my 81 year old mom took a fall and broke a hip so of curse family will always come first.... and I know how extremely lucky I am to still have both of my parents. I was able to get a replacement computer up and running. I finished sealing the door I used this on the corners to fill in the edge. I also added weather striping to the edge of the entry and baggage doors. IMG_1414 (1) by debra branch, on Flickr I got the back window completed and installed...… IMG_1407 (1) by debra branch, on Flickr We pulled Glory out from under the shelter. Its nice to see her in direct sunlight again. IMG_1406 (1) by debra branch, on Flickr She is water tight. We have had several storms in the past few weeks and I have seen no evidence of leaks. She is street legal. IMG_1413 (1) by debra branch, on Flickr Its always fun when you can get one of these vintage girls back on the road.... There is still plenty to do, but Glory is Camp Able....as always thanks for reading and any and all advise is Welcome...…. Debra

Hi, EveryoneTime is getting short till we take Glory out on her first trip since her rebuild...…….. Work has died down now.... so I have more time to spend with mom and dad while she is in rehab for her hip as well as having some time to get this old girl complete... Sunday evening and yesterday I worked on getting the windows trimmed inside and the curtains hung. IMG_1418 by debra branch, on Flickr The original trim was no longer with the camper when I got the trailer so I replaced it with wood trim. I also hung the curtains, and completed the trim over the seems. The benches have been reinstalled as well as the cabinet fronts below the benches. IMG_1419 by debra branch, on Flickr I installed a small shelf on the back wall beneath the window. We will not have a table inside, instead we added a table mounting bracket outside under the curbside window. I still need to install the curtains for the back window. IMG_1420 by debra branch, on Flickr Front of camper, kitchenette is complete. IMG_1417 by debra branch, on Flickr With Richards help I was able to get the trunk on the back. It is an old flower box that I made a lid for, it will be used to carry our septic hose. I really like it and it is so me...….. I'm carrying Glory to get her strips tomorrow. I'm looking forward to taking her on her first trip Labor day week. List of items to complete on Camper
Install fantastic fan Finish bunk Build screen door Clean and install wings and name plates Install shutters Paint/vinyl striping Re-screen windows Mount spare tire Mount propane tanks Figure out 5gal water can storage Figure out generator carrier get my brother to fabricate new bench legs I am sure that this list is not complete...… Everything on the list will not be complete before we take her our but she is Camp able and I am excited about showing her off to the Kids. As always thanks for reading and any and all thoughts and advice is Welcome...… Debra

Hi, Y 'allI haven't done a lot this week myself but things have been accomplished. Thursday I started working on the fabric for the bunk. I got my fabric at a fabric outlet in Fletcher, N.C. IMG_1425 by debra branch, on Flickr I used Rit dye to color the fabric. I didn't think to take a picture of the fabric before I placed it in the dye bath. It was just natural color (off white) I like to heat the dye bath to set the dye in the fabric. IMG_1424 by debra branch, on Flickr Always read directions before using dye. Different fabrics have different needs when using Rit dye, I have never had any fabric come out as dark as the stated color. IMG_1427 by debra branch, on Flickr I hung it outside to dry for the afternoon. IMG_1428 by debra branch, on Flickr after it was dry I put it in the dryer on high heat for an hour. Than I washed it and dried it again. I will get a picture of that once I iron it. Some times simple jobs take a lot of time. While I was working on this Glory was at the shop getting her strips. IMG_1430 by debra branch, on Flickr IMG_1431 by debra branch, on Flickr I'm pleased with the way it turned out. We picked her up Friday night. List of items to complete on CamperInstall fantastic fan Finish bunk Build screen door Clean and install wings and name plates Install shutters Re-screen windows Mount spare tire Mount propane tanks Figure out 5gal water can storage get my brother to fabricate new bench legs I am sure that this list is not complete...… There are still a few things that I want to get accomplished before our first trip. I am getting antsy about getting the wings cleaned and reinstalled but I have an MRI this Thursday, so I cant work on any metal until after it. I know that Aluminum isn't magnetic but I'm not sure about using the still wool, in cleaning the wings. I just don't want to take any chances. FYI - If you ever have to have an MRI make sure you have an X-ray done of your eyes. the magnets in the MRI will cause metal dust that could be in your eyes to move which could cause blindness. In this hobby any of us could have metal in our eyes....I am so thankful for this site. There is no way I would have ever gotten this far and been so happy with how Glory is coming along without the shared knowledge found here. I know that I don't ask a lot of questions, but that's only because my questions have already been asked and answered here and I'm able to refer to them whenever needed. So Thank You all for being so willing to share your knowledge and experience. It helped me more than I can ever express. I still have a ways to go but I have no doubts that I will have a safe camper that I can enjoy for years to come. As always thanks for reading and any and all thoughts and advice are Welcome...…. Debra

Hi, Y 'allI haven't been able to spend a lot of time working on Glory in the past 4 weeks, with mom being in the hospital more than she has been at rehab I been spending more days with her and daddy then I been at home. I'm just thankful that I am able to do it. Even with all that has been on our plate we have made some progress. Richard took the JEEP to his dads shop. They were able to get a hitch receiver mounted on the front of the truck. We have a hitch and haul that will carry our propane generator. Our JEEP is a special addition and there is no prefab hitch made to fit it on the front bumper. IMG_1433 by debra branch, on Flickr I think they did a great job.... Today I took a much needed decompression day. I spent it working on Glory...…I panted the back bumper this morning. IMG_1434 by debra branch, on Flickr Thankfully It dried before this afternoons storms... Its amazing the difference a coat of paint can make. IMG_1436 by debra branch, on Flickr The post on the street side back bumper is the mounting post for our outdoor shower. Richards dad welded it on for us and also helped us fabricated a shower frame that assembles in 2 pieces. I will post pictures of it the first time we put it up. Richard is on call this week and got called out because a cell site went down this morning, but when he got home he helped me install the fantastic fan. I'm trying to stay away from cutting metal right now because I may have to have another MRI done in the next few weeks so as hard as it is I'm not messing with metal cutting to included using still wool. IMG_1435 by debra branch, on Flickr I talked Richard through cutting the hole in the roof with the multi tool. He is more then capable of doing the job but he is out of his element and he prefers me to do this type of job normally. He did a great job after he got it cut we worked together to finish the installation. I also started cleaning Glory's wings today I used a scotch bright pad with barkeepers friend to clean them and then Richard went over them with still wool. After the still wool I wiped them down with glass cleaned on paper towels. I will post pictures once they are installed. List of items to complete on CamperFinish bunk Build screen door Clean and install wings and name plates Install shutters Re-screen windows Mount spare tire Mount propane tanks Figure out 5gal water can storage get my brother to fabricate new bench legs I am sure that this list is not complete...… Thanks for reading and as always any and all thoughts and advise are Welcome...…….
