I did pretty much the same thing with the 57 Shasta. Worked great.

This is my solution to where the floor meets the front wall of the camper. I used a cedar 2x4 and ripped it lengthwise at the correct angle of the front wall. I then fitted the lower pieces, and then clamed the upper and lower together sandwiching the floor. I predrilled the holes, counter sinking them, and then used galvanized lag bolts to secure it together. I am pleased at the results. Sure made it much more rigid in this area. I did pretty much the same thing with the 57 Shasta. Worked great. I like it- and want to do the same on my shasta. My floor is already in- Suggestions for how to mount? A 2x4 fits there perfectly- so I cut it at the same angle as the front wall. It's sitting on the front metal of the frame. Screw through that into the 2X4 from below?

If I follow, I think that is what to do. Make sure the top and bottom boards are pressed firmly against the floor before you screw it together. If the screws have threads the entire length, they will not pull the boards together very well. Maybe use a floor jack under the exterior boards, and lightly press them up while you fasten them.

The floor in the entry of the camper was basically sound, but had some dry cracking and low spots. In preparation for the VCT tile, I wanted to stabilize the wood, and fill in the low areas. I used West System epoxy. It wicked into the cracks, and leveled into the low areas. It is also waterproof. After it cures, It will be sanded smooth. Made some nice gains this weekend. Ran the new copper tubing, and all propane systems are hooked up. Ran the new 110V wire, and all systems hooked up with the exception of the fuse panel, but got that mounted. Fired up the new fridge on 110V, and it worked great. 12V fuse panel is in and all systems hooked up. And finally, sanded the epoxy on the areas I applied it on the flooor, and gave it a final coat. The epoxy did exactly what I hoped for. Sealed, strengthened, leveled, and waterproofed. 9C2A7BE9-76D3-4157-82B5-9DE119E34D33 by Bryan Port, on Flickr 0F4733E8-3810-40CE-AF77-EB9ECB565D0E by Bryan Port, on Flickr 1F299EF3-C1E3-4DC6-AEC7-B4198D43A025 by Bryan Port, on Flickr 205FA0DB-2FF8-475D-97AF-9DED2E92D28D by Bryan Port, on Flickr 9FB49931-914C-4000-BB65-83CB7C4D71B2 by Bryan Port, on Flickr

I first want to say thanks to Mobiltec, and Redneck Responder. Your instruction made this floor a complete success. After preparing the floor, and filling in the flaws, I began. I used Henrys floor prep, Henrys 430 adhesive, and Armstrong VCT tiles. Started spreading the tile adhesive this morning at 8:00. I let it dry for 2 hours, then began laying tile. I finished at 2:30 this afternoon. I am very pleased with the results. 90D10941-E38B-493F-AAA4-CEDA640725A9 by Bryan Port, on Flickr C6476BAC-244E-42D7-A7DA-3EC1DB076B10 by Bryan Port, on Flickr 930760E3-FB82-4D21-A69C-D0FD69CAB5A1 by Bryan Port, on Flickr 8FB21C92-48CB-4BA9-8AC9-7BD5DEBBB2D6 by Bryan Port, on Flickr 096C32D5-EEE0-430D-B94D-E1AC9235804F by Bryan Port, on Flickr

I would like to know where the fish processing location is going to be? Wherever the trail leads. Anywhere between Fairbanks and Homer.
