Hey y'all: I'm beginning to wonder if the seats in my 1955 are truly the originals. I'd like to go and have them re-covered but they don't fit all the way on the bench. Is that normal? I realize that someone did a funky job on the wood supports below, but I think the size is correct or at least I'm hoping their right. Any opinions on recover or have rebuilt? My 57 was like that as well, but blue with piping.

Were the bench seats typically vinyl from that era? The bottom layer on mine are plaid fabric (like a burlap weave).

I have 3 different sets from 3 different trailers and they were all vinyl.
